Dear K-4 Families,

It has been an exciting week! On Tuesday, we welcomed back the Lincoln School Class of 2026 as part of their senior week activities. Students gathered in the Learning Commons to hear the seniors share their future plans and advice, which ranged from "be kind" and "find your people" to "ask for help" and "believe in yourself." Afterward, the entire K-8 school cheered as the seniors participated in their “Senior Clap Out.” It was wonderful to see how much they’ve grown since their time as K-4 students, and we are all very proud of them.

This morning, we held our last Community Meeting of the year, featuring special guests from the Lincoln Public Library. Debbie and Denise introduced the Lincoln Summer Reading Challenge and the Boston Public Library Bingo Board, and shared a reading of The Watermelon Seed by Greg Pizzoli. We hope our students stay engaged with reading all summer! Additionally, our Wellness teachers, Mr. Trask and Ms. Love, discussed themes of sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendship through the book The Golden Acorn by Katy Hudson —the perfect lead-in to our own Field Day fun next week.

Congratulations to our first graders on their Celebration of Learning today, and a big thank you to all the caregivers who joined the event.

We hope to see you at the Juneteenth Celebration tomorrow!

Sincerely,
Sarah

Fun Opportunity for Green Team Volunteers (and their kids!)

Dear Lincoln School Composting Volunteers,

Thank you so much for your awesome support this school year! Since January, we have had six amazing volunteers helping out over multiple days. While this number is down from twenty unique volunteers from September-December, we still LOVE our volunteers and whether you joined us for one session or many, we truly appreciate YOU and your time.

As we look ahead to the end year, we are in dire need of volunteers and would be delighted to see you again– or to have you help spread the word about this important work we are doing in our school with others who might also be interested in volunteering.

If you'd like to spend time with your child as you volunteer, your child is welcome to join you at the compost table if they would like to pull up a chair and eat their lunch with you, don a pair of composting gloves, or use the coveted composting tongs!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or suggestions. Thank you again for your invaluable support!

Most sincerely,

Gwen Blumberg & Nicole McDonagh
