A Message from the Principal

Dear K-4 Families,

Happy New Year! Over the December break, our school district successfully upgraded its website! While the December 19th edition of Family Updates was lost during this transition, we are embracing the opportunity to start fresh for the New Year. Also over the break, our hard working custodians, Danny, Mondo, Javier, and John, gave the school a thorough clean and then jumped right into snow removal and deicing the sidewalks this week!

Students and staff had a strong return, as well, jumping right back into classroom and school routines, and into their learning, too. There are also some exciting school-wide initiatives to highlight. First, the continuation of the K-4 Student Council Coin Drive which runs through January 31st. Send in any coins or bills through January 31st to help us reach our goal to raise $472.82 (double the December donations)  for the World Wildlife Fund.

Mrs. Blumberg announced the MSLA Bookmark Contest at Community Meeting this morning. The Massachusetts School Library Association sponsors this contest for students in grades K-12! There are different divisions based on grade levels, and all students are invited to submit a design on the MSLA template which can be found in the library or by printing from the link below.

Also at our Community Meeting today, we talked about New Years Resolutions - promises to ourselves - and our upcoming Kindness Challenge! We are going to practice and look for kindness, everything from smiling to helping, to sharing and more. Students and staff can recognize one another by putting hearts into classroom bins. The hearts will be displayed in the Learning Commons!

Looking ahead, the PTO is hard at work preparing for Bingo Night on January 30th. See details below and get  ready for some family fun!

Sincerely,
Sarah
